1958-D Wheat Penny Value
1958 was the final year of the “wheat ears” reverse before the Lincoln Memorial design arrived in 1959. The 1958-D (Denver) is very common, so most are worth a few cents — but high-grade red examples are collected as the end of an era.
Key facts
- Last year of the wheat-back cent (1909–1958).
- Composition: 95% copper. Extremely common in circulated grades.
- Premiums apply mainly to high-grade, fully red (RD) uncirculated coins.
